Heal Magazine was born out of a desire to create a safe digital space where readers can reconnect with their authentic selves and find the tools to heal. Founder Selma Lemsaadi partnered with ES Content Creative to help bring that vision to life — beginning with defining the magazine’s distinctive voice and continuing with copyediting support and editorial consultation for each issue.
We developed a voice that is calm, clear, and caring, without falling into clichés or glossing over tough subjects. Across themes like self-acceptance, intergenerational trauma, and mental health in marginalized communities, the content needed to feel both accessible and meaningful. As copyeditor, the goal was to go beyond the matcha latte fluff of the wellness space and dive deeper into intersectional healing. That looked like preserving vulnerability in each piece, elevating contributors’ voices, and ensuring the tone stayed consistent across a growing body of work.
Now eight issues in, Heal Magazine has become a trusted source of insight, reflection, and community. The voice we helped shape continues to guide readers through deeply personal stories, expert advice, and affirming perspectives — all in a space that feels safe, real, and human.
